Crockpot Crack Chicken

This was the first recipe I ever made in my crockpot and became one of my top 5 favorite recipes I have ever made. If you’re like me and struggle finding crockpot recipes, this one is a must try for anyone.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 6 hours

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 chicken breasts, fat and skin removed
  • 1 packet of ranch dressing mix
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup crumbled bacon bits
  • 1 – 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or measure with your heart)
  • 2-3 sliced green onions
  • hamburger buns, tortillas, chips, or croissants
  • (optional) 1 cup chicken broth

To start, add 2-3 chicken breasts to your crockpot along with the 8 oz block of cream cheese and packet of ranch dressing mix. (Optional, add 1 cup of chicken broth). Cook on low for 6 hours.

In the meantime, chop up the green onions and cook the bacon to your liking. Set to the side.

At the 6 hour mark, remove the lid and shred the chicken. Mix together the cream cheese, chicken, optional broth, and ranch seasoning. Add the rest of the ingredients (green onions, bacon bits, and shredded cheese). Mix together well.

This recipe can be served as a dip or the main course. I like to serve it on a crispy hamburger bun and pair it with some rice or macaroni. It can also be served on a tortilla or croissant.
