This meal is my comfort food for colder weather or anytime that I am feeling sick. This is the best homemade chili recipe that I have ever tried, and I make this large batch to last us for several days.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 1 – 1 1/2 hours
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 2 cans dark red kidney beans (drained & rinsed)
- 2 cans light red kidney beans (drained & rinsed)
- 1 large can Bush’s chili beans (mild)
- 1 large can petite diced tomatoes
- 2 packs McCormick chili powder
- 1/2 – 1 can tomato juice
- 1/2 large onion (finely chopped)
In a large saucepan, add the ground beef and cook until done. Drain the grease from the meat. In a large pot, add all the ingredients and mix together. Cover and cook on medium/low heat for 1 – 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
