An air fryer recipe is always the easiest because it usually doesn’t require a large meal prep and it’s easy to clean after. I love this buffalo chicken recipe because you can adjust how spicy you want the chicken and it is convenient. This recipe really only requires pantry items that you would usually have in stock at your home.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt & pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic & onion powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon water & hot sauce (your preference, I use Franks)
- 1lb chicken tenderloins
- 2-4 tablespoons buffalo sauce (your preference, I use Sweet Baby Rays)
- butter/olive oil spray
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine together the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and set aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, water, and hot sauce (not buffalo sauce) until combined.
One at a time, dump the chicken tenders into the flour mixture, coating all sides, and shake off any excess. Place the tender into the egg mixture until fully coated, and let any excess drip off. Place the tender back into the flour mixture to form the crust. Again, shake off any excess.
Spray the air fryer basket with the butter/olive oil spray and gently place each tender into the basket, making sure that they are not touching each other. Spray the tops of the tenders with more of the spray. Air fry for 10 minutes total, but flip halfway through and spray the tops again. Cook for the 10 minutes or until tenders are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees.
In a separate bowl, add the buffalo sauce of your choice. Toss each tender in the sauce, or you can brush the sauce on each tender.
