I am so glad you’re here.

Let’s begin with an introduction.

Hi (again). My name is Mackenzie Lewis, or Mack for short. I am 22 years old and living full-time with my husband and our two dogs in a fifth-wheel! Crazy, right? We were living a typical life; I was working for my local city court and my husband had recently switched careers. We were living in a 1,400 sqft home in East Tennessee that we purchased in early 2021. One day, my husband came to me with the idea of returning to his previous career as a lineman, but being recently married, he did not want to work over the road again and live apart.

Thus our search for a tiny travel trailer began to start.

Our first camper was rough. Losing 1,300 sqft of room is a hard enough adjustment, but adding two adults, a very large and small dog into the mix made it a struggle. Nonetheless, we fell in love with the freedom and being together all the time.

Selling our home was not a hard or easy decision. While we knew what we wanted, such an abrupt change from a normal to abnormal lifestyle was scary, especially with as little experience as we had. However, our house lasted less than 2 weeks on the market before we were scheduled to close.

Bittersweet to say the least, we had said our final goodbye to Tennessee as we left in our tiny travel trailer to our next location. Though, living in that cramped space didn’t last long.

We have since upgraded to a much larger, more convenient fifth-wheel that feels more like a home. We, along with our dog babies, have adjusted well to this new, “abnormal” lifestyle. I will say that such a substantial leap outside of my comfort zone allowed me to grow as a person.

I have discovered many things about myself, such as my love for the outdoors. I am still a Christmas girl at heart, but warm weather and outside activities brings me so much joy. Hiking, kayaking, boating, RZR riding, whatever it may be. So many adventures are to be enjoyed outside.

Outdoor activities bring me immense joy, although I am a natural homebody. Whether it’s being in the kitchen creating delicious meals to feed my family, getting my hands on a craft, or relaxing in the evenings with a good book on my Kindle, I cannot deny my underlying personality. The name Home Soul came from my homebody spirit.

Being an online graduate student (MA) enables my homebody spirit. Though I prefer to keep my professional and personal life separate, I enjoy sharing topics that I am passionate about related to mental health on this platform. Regardless of my career choice, mental health awareness is an important matter to me, and I share my thoughts publicly.

Starting from the very beginning, I created this blog in early 2022 simply as something to keep me busy. I kept up with it for a while, but slowly decreased publishing as I struggled with ideas for content to post. At the time, I was not aware of what I am now. My love for content creation began to grow as I started sharing outfit pictures on my personal Instagram earlier in 2023, about a year after I started my blog. As my engagement grew, I came back to this blog and started publishing personal blogs here and there, and shortly after started publishing some recipes that I had been trying. After some time, I’ve become more comfortable posting mini vlogs, casual content, more personal blogs and recipes, and I am now starting a podcast!

I truly love each and every single person who reads my blogs, watches my tutorials, keeps up with my posts, and just overall supports me and my journey with content creation. I love being able to document my journey of traveling in my early 20s, along with creating content related to topics that I enjoy and find entertaining/interesting. Something that started as a “busy” hobby turned out to be something that I thoroughly love and enjoy to do.

With that all being said, thank you for being here and supporting me. I am so excited for what this year and the years to come have to offer.
